Developing Leadership to Drive Strategic Transformation

Challenge:

ACCA, a global accounting professional body, set out to deliver its ambitious five-year strategic transformation. Success depended on building leadership capability at every level of the organization:

Approach
Beyond Limits Consulting partnered with ACCA to design and deliver a multi-level leadership approach:

  • People Managers (310+) → Built confidence, consistency, and capability through virtual workshops, peer learning, and applied coaching.

  • Executive & Directorate Teams → Facilitated alignment sessions to ensure leaders could translate strategic vision into local implementation.

  • Change Champions → Equipped internal champions with change-management tools, peer coaching, and Learning Labs (action-learning style) where they applied new approaches to live challenges and supported each other in embedding change.

Building Leadership Capability for Complex Global Challenges

Challenge
A global government initiative, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), set out to strengthen women’s leadership capacity across international governments. The program brought together diplomats and leaders from multiple government departments across eight nations. The aim was to strengthen frontline diplomacy and networks, promote gender equality in leadership, and increase the confidence and impact of women leaders in complex international contexts.

 

Approach
We designed and facilitated three six-month blended leadership development programs for 110 delegates. The curriculum combined virtual and in-person workshops, coaching, and peer learning, focusing on the interconnected capabilities modern leaders require:

  • Systems thinking for complex problem-solving

  • Leading change in uncertain environments

  • Self-awareness and adaptive leadership styles

  • Strategic networking and influencing skills

  • Resilience under pressure

  • Advancing gender equality in leadership contexts

The program emphasized that effective leadership requires both personal capability and the ability to facilitate collective success across borders and cultures.

 

Results

  • 110 women leaders developed across eight nations

  • Participants demonstrated measurable growth in strategic thinking, change leadership, and collaboration

  • A sustainable network of cross-cultural professional relationships continues to support participants in government leadership roles across different nations

Building Stronger Team Collaboration

Challenge
A 30-strong government department team had been through a period of significant change, leaving staff in need of greater cohesion, trust, and clarity about how to move forward together. The department’s leadership recognized the need to re-energize the team, strengthen collaboration, and support staff in adapting to new ways of working.

 

Approach
Beyond Limits Consulting designed and facilitated a tailored team development program that focused on building collaboration, trust, and shared purpose. The program included:

  • Interactive in-person workshops that emphasised participation and practical application

  • Activities exploring individual and team strengths, and how to harness these collectively

  • Exercises to understand and adapt to different leadership and working styles

  • Safe spaces for staff to reflect on recent changes, share experiences, and discuss how to move forward

  • Engagement with department leadership to ensure the program connected individual development with broader team goals
